Salary: $100,000 annually

Sandy Mac Evolution LLC is seeking a Mid-Level Oracle Database Administrator to support the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO). This position will provide database administration, development, and maintenance as part of a four-person SQL and Oracle team supporting enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create, configure, and maintain Oracle databases across on-premises and cloud systems, including Oracle Grid and Oracle RMAN technologies.
  • Troubleshoot database and application integration issues; investigate root causes and perform Oracle database and PL/SQL tuning.
  • Execute approved installations, patching, and maintenance; manage assigned ServiceNow incidents and change requests.
  • Perform and validate backups and restores using Oracle RMAN; implement and test high availability and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor database health and capacity with the team's monitoring tools, including Idera and SolarWinds as applicable.
  • Develop database scripts and automation, document changes and resolutions, and submit weekly activity reports.

Qualifications

  • Must currently hold an ACTIVE Public Trust (sponsorship is not available).
  • At least four years of database administration experience, with relevant Oracle expertise; DBA II equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle Database, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, and PL/SQL, including standalone database creation and management.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, performance tuning, installation and patching, backup and recovery, and high availability.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across technical and business teams, and communicate clearly with staff and management.
  • A detailed resume demonstrating relevant experience is required. Professional Oracle certifications are strongly recommended.

Required Technology Coverage

Demonstrated expertise across SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL scripting, Oracle, PL/SQL, Oracle Grid, Oracle RMAN, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access. Work includes database support for application integrations such as SharePoint.

Schedule and Equipment

Work remotely under GPO IT security policies, with eight hours of daily availability within the 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. core window. Periodic after-hours patching, reboots, and support will be scheduled in advance. Remain available through Microsoft Teams while on duty. GPO provides a laptop and RSA security token.

Anticipated start: November 16, 2026, subject to contract award and confirmed staffing requirements.
