Job Description:

Location: Key West, Florida (onsite, full time)
Start Date: One week after acceptance
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required; must be eligible to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
Salary: $128,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Design and implement VDI infrastructure; configure and manage virtual machines and desktop templates.
- Monitor VDI performance and resource usage; troubleshoot virtual desktops, applications, and user connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain hypervisor software.
- Manage server hardware, resource allocation, capacity planning, Virtual Desktop host pools, and related resources.
- Architect, plan, and implement desktop virtualization technology; proactively maintain infrastructure health, performance, and availability.
- Conduct backups and implement disaster-recovery procedures for VDI components.
- Provide expert-level support for complex VDI incidents, investigate root causes, and implement timely resolutions.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies.
- Implement and maintain security measures protecting VDI systems, desktops, and user data.
- Plan and execute patches, security updates, software updates, and system upgrades.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of hands-on VDI administration experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
- Proficiency with VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
- Strong knowledge of virtualization concepts and VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Expert troubleshooting of complex VDI issues.
- Familiarity with network, storage, and security principles relevant to VDI.
- Strong communication skills with coworkers, management, and customers, including presentations.
- Ability to perform the stated physical requirements, including moving computer or A/V equipment up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V), or equivalent.
